The Brief
The Catchup Academy is no ordinary tuition provider. Born from a belief that every young person deserves access to education tailored to them, the team wanted to shift the narrative around tutoring from transactional support to transformational change. They already had strong operational credibility and years of experience, but their visual identity and website didn’t match their impact. They came to Unearthed with a clear mission: To better communicate their values, improve clarity across their offering, and position themselves as a trusted partner to both tutors and local authorities. It needed to feel human, warm, and capable - not clinical or corporate.

Our Approach
We started by defining the emotional and functional layers of the brand. The Catchup Academy isn’t just about grades, it’s about confidence, connection, and community impact. That idea shaped everything from the colour palette (bold, warm, and optimistic) to the typography (clear, modern, and accessible).
On the design front, we created a flexible system full of playful but purposeful shapes, nodding to the variety of learners they support. Content blocks were modular and easy to digest making navigation intuitive for users ranging from safeguarding officers to SEND tutors.
We stripped back the jargon and focused on clarity, heart, and trust. By creating distinct user journeys for tutors and local authorities, we ensured each saw themselves reflected in the site and understood how Catchup could help them. We also introduced soft brand moments across the site like “Our work of heart” to reinforce their values.
The development phase focused on performance, accessibility, and scalability with content modules built for easy editing and expansion as their offering grows.
The Activation
The new brand and website gave Catchup Academy the confidence to go big. It’s now easier than ever for schools to understand their services, easier for tutors to find meaningful work, and easier for local authorities to trust them as a partner. Internally, the team has a sharper story to tell with messaging that unites staff, partners, and funders around a shared mission.
